Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you offer free book reviews?

Yes, free when you start. Your first step is a free 15-minute Fit Check. If your books need a closer look, the next step is a Better Books Diagnostic. It's $350 upfront, and the full $350 comes off your first invoice if you begin cleanup or monthly bookkeeping within 14 days.

  • How often will I receive reports?

Every month. Once your accounts are reconciled, you receive an updated Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet, with context on what the numbers mean for your business. Premium plans also include cash flow and KPI reports.

  • What software do you use?

QuickBooks Online. I'm a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor, and every plan includes full QuickBooks Online management.

  • Do you offer payroll or tax services?

I file Hawaii GET returns (G-45 and G-49) for clients as an add-on for $50 per filing. I don't run payroll or file income tax returns, and I'm happy to connect you with trusted partners who handle those.

  • Who do you work with?

Established Hawaii business owners, typically doing $100k to $1M in annual revenue, who are done doing their own books. You want someone reliable to own your bookkeeping, keep it current every month, and tell you what the numbers mean.

  • What does cleanup include?

Cleanup can include bank and credit card reconciliations, correcting duplicated or miscoded revenue, categorizing uncategorized transactions, reclassifying transfers, separating personal and business expenses, and organizing the books so they are accurate and CPA-ready. Cleanup is a separate project called the Better Books Reset, starting at $1,500. It is not included in monthly bookkeeping.

  • What is the Better Books Diagnostic?

A review of your current bookkeeping setup that shows what's clean, what needs attention, and what it will take to get your books back on track, with a quote for next steps. It's free when you start: the Diagnostic is $350 upfront, and if you begin cleanup or monthly bookkeeping within 14 days, the full $350 comes off your first invoice.

  • What if I'm behind?

That's what the Better Books Reset is for. We start with a Diagnostic, quote the cleanup, and move into monthly bookkeeping once you're caught up. If your books are already current and reconciled in QuickBooks Online, we may be able to quote monthly bookkeeping right after your Fit Check.

  • What happens if I don't send documents or grant access?

Bookkeeping timelines depend on full access and timely information. If access or documents are delayed, your monthly close or cleanup timeline moves with them.

Ready to stop carrying the stress of messy books?

Start with a free 15-minute Fit Check. If we're a good fit, the next step is usually a Better Books Diagnostic, so we can see exactly what needs cleaning up and what support makes sense.
